“It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.”

Lamentations

Session 10

Lamentations 3:26(KJV)

Let us define few of these words in the above scripture.

Webster defined good as a favorable character or tendency and hope as to desire

with expectancy of fulfillment. I would imagine that quietly wait means not to murmur or complain. The Strong’s Concordance defined salvation as rescue or deliverance.

May we know that God is good and that His mercy endures forever (I Chronicles 16:34).

Psalms 33:18: “Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy,” (NKJV)

It is our tendency to murmur and complain when situations get rough and seemly out of our control. But refreshing will come to our hearts, souls, and minds when we press through to give thanks to God during those hard and unbearable times, especially when we lack understanding of our insufferable situations. Written in I Thessalonians 5:18 is “to give thanks in everything.”

When we look at the above definitions, hopefully, we will be able to perceive the goodness and faithfulness of God. Jesus said, “If you then, being evil (natural), know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”– Luke 7:11(KJV).

“Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” – Proverbs 3:5-6(NKJV).

“God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” – I Corinthians 1:9 (NKJV)

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17(NKJV).

Will or have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?
