“The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him”

Lamentation

Session 8

"The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him"

The Hebrew word for ‘good’ is ‘tob’ which means most pleasant, pleasure, precious, prosperity, wealth, welfare.

The Merriam-Webster Define ‘good’ as a favorable character or tendency.

Because of the relationship between God and Moses, the Lord passed by Moses and declared His goodness. This can be seen in Exodus 34:6-7, in the Old Testament; “And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and the fourth generation.” After the declaration made by God, Moses then bowed his head toward the earth and worshipped.

The Bible informed us in Ephesians 3:20, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,”

We cannot out rank this goodness of God.

I Chronicles 16:34, “Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.”

Psalm 25:8, “Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore, He teaches sinners in the way.”

Psalm 33:5; “He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.”

Psalm 100:5; “For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.”

Psalm 119:68; “You are good and do good; teach me Your statutes.”

Psalm 143:10; “Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness.”

Nahum 1:7; “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.”

Psalm 145:9; “ The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.”
