“The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore, will I hope in Him”

Lamentations

Session 7

The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore, will I hope in Him"

During the time of the prophet Jeremiah’s moments of despair, he proclaimed the above referenced scripture written in the Old Testament in Lamentations.

Question – What are we holding on too – what is grabbing our attention – if it is not God – what is it or who is it?

The times we are now living are changing fast right before our eyes. What we thought was concrete, we are finding out that our days are not so stable, and foundations are shaking beneath our feet. What we may want to grab hold to for dear life, may disappear out of our reach.

Psalm 16:5 “The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintain my lot.”

When times get rough all around us, and when we are not sure which way to turn; we can speak to our souls to determine that we will hope in God. With all our might may we cling to the verse in Hebrews declaring, “….For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.””(2)

During these turbulent days of uncertainty, know and believe without any doubt written in Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever, ” which remains true that He holds all our days in His hands.

Jesus is the Rock of our Salvation. (3) Believe.
